English: Mock-up of a contender in the 1925 & 1926 Schneider Trophy races.
Powered by a 565hp Curtiss V-1400, the R3C won the 1925 race with a speed of 232mph. This was the last biplane to win the event, the following years race being won by an Italian M.39 monoplane, with the R3C coming in 2nd.
This static mock-up was originally built for Leisure Sport and went on display at Thorpe Park, UK. When the aircraft collection was dispersed, several of the Schneider machines moved to Chino.
